Save our Stages

During the, pandemic, YouTube put on ‘Save our Stages’, a livestream festival benefitting independent music venues across the U.S. For the festival, we were lucky enough to take on a true passion project, and tell the unsung stories of America’s venues with short films that played during the festival. 

Because these spaces are so much more than just a location, we titled the series,“Folklore,” in honor of the traditions and communities that these venues have given the world and celebrate them as living legends of music and culture.

We turned the stage lights around on to America’s independent venues. From a variety of narrators, we heard unsung stories from backstage, after hours, in between sets, and even some tall tales from behind the bar. The ones you can’t find online.
